"The image is the greatest instrument of instruction. What a child gets out of any subject presented to him is simply the images, which he himself forms with regard to it. If nine-tenths of the energy at present directed towards making the child learn certain things were spent seeing to it that the child was forming proper images, the work of the instructor would be indefinitely facilitated."
John Dewey
Our goal, as English educators, is to provide our students with ample opportunities to express themselves using art to enhance the English curriculum. Through this webpage, we hope that you will find useful lessons to use with your middle school students, as well as student examples for some of the lessons. As we continue our quest to enhance our classrooms by using the multiple intelligences, we hope that you too will further your instruction by trying to incorporate art into you're classroom. We're confident that you'll be pleased with you're students enthusiasm and progress!
