This site was created for students to explore rural, urban, and suburban communities in the USA. The community study will be from the perspective of the New York State Social Studies Learning Standards. We are looking for other communities throughout the US to provide additional geographic, socio-economic, and ethnic perspective. Students will learn to locate places on the map and globe. In addition students will learn how different communities are influenced by geographic and environmental factors. We will also study the rights and responsibilities of citizenship in the community.
