Living on an island, water is one of greatest resources. Not only do we use this resource to drink, clean and water our lawns, but we also use it as a source of income and recreation. The waters of long island are a source of enjoyment for the hundreds of thousands of beach goers each season. We also rely on them as a source of income for fisherman, clammers, lobstermen and charter boat captains.

Only by increasing penalties for illegal chemical and waste dumping and raising awareness of water management, will we be able to get our waterways back to their former production.
