My background in education at the receiving end consists of going to Kindergarten through a Bachelor of Arts degree all within walking distance of the house I was born in.
> I graduated from Queens College in 1969 with a BA in Mathematics.
> In 1992 I received a Doctorate Honoris Causa in Technology from DeMontfort University in Leicester, UK (former Leicester Poly Tech), for my work with the development of the COBOL programming language and other international IT standards.

My background in education on the giving side consists of:
> High school mathematics tutor
> Designed and presented technical workshops to IT personnel.
> Taught Computer operations and programming to high school seniors on Long Island (BOCES)
> Designed project based IT (and other) training programs (2 – 3 month long programs) for corporations.
> Presented hundreds of technical and non-technical speeches, lectures, seminars, workshops, courses, etc.  in classrooms and auditoriums as well as corporations, conferences, conventions, boardrooms, internet broadcasts, etc. including a floating boat in the Amstel River.  a Castle in Zeis Holland, a 300-year-old Irish church, among other interesting places.
> Wrote 3 books (2 self-published)
> Wrote hundreds of published articles in the Academic and IT trade press

The camera I will be using for this class to start off with is my Cannon Elura 50 Digital Video Camcorder.  It shoots still images (.jpg) at 1024x768 resolution (or 640 x 480) Given the requirement you have asked for this class that pictures be submitted with 400 pixel width, this should be sufficient.  It uses SD memory cards (I have a 64mb SD card).  This camera offers both auto and manual focus as well as auto exposure or +/- 2.0 f-stops. There is a "low light" setting that slows down the shutter speed so that I can trick the camera into "shutter-preferred" manual exposure mode for forced slow shutter speeds like this picture

I aspire to implement truly creative educational programs at public schools and in corporations using the latest educational technology at my disposal. This educational model will be project based, constructivist in nature and highly collaborative.  It will be unusual and it will be fun.
