Hi all,
This coming Tuesday October 5th, as most of you know is the EEV Collaboration Workshop at CWP.  It is a wonderful opportunity for all of us who are involved in the Fashion Portal project to gather face to face and discuss our plan of action.  Many of you have given a lot of thought to this project, as I have.  This evening will be a very good time to share our ideas with the others.  I hope that what we accomplish next Tuesday is for all of us to:
a) have a good idea of the scope and objective of the Fashion Portal project, and
b) identify the various tasks (sub-projects) that must be achieved
c) identify who amongst us can take on these tasks, either alone or in collaboration with others.
d) Develop a tentative time line
I'm happy to prepare an Agenda for our meeting on Tuesday, starting with the 4 items above and post this agenda on the WWW. This Agenda will basically fill in the procedural details of these items as best I can. Please email me any issues you would like added to the agenda and I'll re-issue the agenda whenever it is changed.
I do not mean to usurp the leadership of this project;  I welcome (look to) anyone to pick up the lead and responsibility for some part of the Fashion Portal project.  We can discuss this in more detail on Tuesday.  For right now, I am happy to play this coordination role to get the project off the ground.
Thanks to all of you;  I hope to see you on Tuesday, October 5th.
Jerry

The following is an excerp from the EEV Workshop Description posted at
http://eev.liu.edu/eev05/calendar/oct04.htm for October 5th.
EEV Collaboration Night: Peace  Panel and Support
Mentors: B. Schneiderman, B. Bowman, J. Dunne, M. Dornisch
Location: C.W. Post in Room 314, B. Davis Schwartz Library (2nd  floor)
Time: 4:30-7:30 PM

EEV Collaboration Nights in the past year or two have been times  to work on your collaboration with support. This year we will  change the format slightly. Each session will begin with an  EEV presentation (30-45 minutes followed by questions and answers)  and then Open Support time. This first session will include  a "peace" panel. Monica Willard from the UN will  be with us and we will invite others caring about understanding  people - people with their differences who might be in your  home or in your community as well as people of different cultures  from around the world. Monica (and perhaps others) will stay  for a little while afterwards, in case you'd like to develop  links in your collaboration with the her/them.
